What is syphilis?


Syphilis is a chronic and systematic infectious disease caused by treponema pallidum. The spirochete soon spread into tissues and organs throughout the whole body after infection. The clinical manifestations are various, sometimes distinct and sometimes indistinct, with a long course of disease, mainly affecting skin and mucous membrane in early stage, and affecting cardiovascular system and central nervous system except for skin and mucous in advance stage, on the other side, syphilis may also stay in latency showing no symptoms for many years.

Treponema pallidum didn't become resistant to penicillin, however, the major reason for difficulty in controlling is the unhealthy lifestyle, especially prostitution, whoring and sexual liberation. Syphilis is a kind of systemic, chronic, and sex transmitted disease caused by treponema pallidum. It mainly manifests as damage of skin and mucous membrane in early stage and pathogenic changes in cardiovascular system, central nervous system, bones and eye region in advanced stage. It is infected mainly by filthy sex, occasionally by kiss, lactation, or through indirect path such as daily necessities and blood transfusion.
