In 1998, it was expanded under the approval of central ministry of united front, national people’s committee, and national TCM administration, with the new address in No. 218 Anwai Xiaoguan Beili Asian sport village, occupying an area of 22 Mu and first period of building area of 12,000 square meters, which is characteristic hospital giving priority to traditional Tibetan medicine and also incorporating in treatment, scientific research, education and recovery. 　　Beijing Traditional Tibetan Hospital is a secondary A class hospital and an agency for medical insurance, gathering together the essence of the medicines of minority groups in china, such as Tibetan medicine, traditional Mongolian medicine, the medicine of Yi nationality in Yunnan, Tujia nationality in Hunan, Zhuang nationality in Guangxi, Buyi nationality in Guizhou, as well as traditional Chinese medicine. Leaders of CCP and our country have come to our hospital several times for inspection and guidance, with great expectation on the development of our hospital. Foreign friends like Doctor Zhongdao Hong—the former general secretary of WHO, Balgimbaev—prime minister of Kazakstan, Phelfender —the chairman of the biggest party in Canada, also given good evaluation on the hospital. Recently, ministry of traditional Tibetan medicine also invites some famous experts of ethnical medicines to work in our hospital, such as Tibetan doctor Cuoru?Cilang, Mongolia doctor Baiyila, and Zhuang doctor Huang Jingwei and so on.
